Case studies
Our project spans four countries – Austria, Belgium, Slovenia, and the UK – focusing on case regions in Klosterneuburg and Graz (Austria), Ghent and the Flemish Ardennes (Belgium), the Savinjsko–Šaleška and Koroška regions (Slovenia), and Leeds and Bradford (UK). Across these, we bring together urban, suburban, and peri-urban contexts.
What makes this work stand out is its focus on young people’s access to essential services across this full spectrum of places. While ideas like the 15-minute city are largely shaped by dense urban settings, we push this debate further – asking what access, young people’s experiences, and policy really look like within and beyond different urban contexts. This opens up new questions about inequalities, barriers, and opportunities, and how alternative futures for these places can be shaped in the here and now.
